Golden

Cast adrift in a world where his cat-bodied, bird-winged race is dwindling, hunted by humans for sport, the aquenn Golden is forced on a journey to find his place. Raised by a tribe of hunters in the northern mountains and wrongly exiled for crimes he did not commit, he found his life entwined with that of a human man, a hunter named Marsin, the first man to capture and tame an aquenn as a mount and the first of the Birdriders of Vesondr. Though his piece may not be recalled by Men in the centuries to come, it is the actions of Golden which set the stage for the freedom of his aquenn brethren and helped to strengthen his once-numerous, powerful race.
