His eyes glinted again, but he said nothing, just nodded.
"You're not afraid of dying, are you?"
"No, Boss."

When Ian is assigned a bodyguard by his friend and trusted associate, he refuses. No crime boss needs a bodyguard-it's the only way to keep his crumbling dignity intact.
