Breaking the mold

At Fairview High, Madison Harper rules the school. Blonde, beautiful, and the captain of the cheerleading squad, she knows how to keep her social status intact-by keeping everyone at arm's length. But beneath the surface, Madison is exhausted by the persona she's built and the expectations that weigh her down.

On the opposite end of the social spectrum is Emily Tran, a self-proclaimed nerd with a passion for coding and sci-fi. Emily is used to being invisible, blending into the background with her small circle of equally geeky friends. She's never been one to care about popularity, but she's always noticed Madison from afar, curious about the girl behind the perfect façade.

When a group project in English class forces Madison and Emily to work together, their worlds collide. Emily expects Madison to blow off the project, but instead, she finds a girl who's more real and vulnerable than she could've imagined. Madison, drawn to Emily's authenticity and warmth, begins to let down her walls.

Their partnership turns into late-night study sessions, secret conversations, and an unexpected friendship that slowly grows into something more.
