Her mother is a drunk and is never home. Her father travels a lot due to his job. When her brother gets killed by two of her father's old friends, she knew her life would turn to hell. Chris and April were sixteen, but they were already deeply in love. One day April has to move to California, and Chris is forced to stay in Virginia.
