Jason Todd hears rumors that The Scarecrow has been metaling with a new fear formula that would be able to tap into a person's dream physically. Changing it into whatever he wants and also being able to keep them there in his own personal nightmare playground. Jason knows Batman will only try and take him into custody again once he hears of it and he's had enough of the back and forth with the same villains. Scarecrow wants nothing but death and suffering and that's exactly what he's gonna get.

Ayla Rivens, otherwise known as Dusk, a survivor turned avenger, Dusk is a ruthless, dream-walking vigilante with a personal vendetta against Scarecrow. Her powers make her a formidable force, but her methods are as dark as the nightmares she controls. Ayla was a young woman with a bright future until she was kidnapped by Scarecrow. He used her as a test subject for a new fear toxin derived from lunar moths, which he believed could unlock the power to control dreams. The experiments were brutal, leaving her physically and mentally scarred. When Scarecrow thought she had died, he dumped her body in the Gotham River. Ayla survived, but the toxins had permanently altered her DNA, granting her moth-like abilities and dream manipulation powers.
She discovered that Scarecrow had extracted a formula from her blood, which he plans to perfect and weaponize. Ayla adopts the identity of Dusk and begins hunting Scarecrow, determined to stop him before he unleashes his new fear toxin on Gotham. She operates in the shadows, avoiding Batman and other heroes, knowing that her methods are too extreme for their approval.
