"Why aren't you wearing your tie?" His voice was low, laced with disapproval.

I stopped in my tracks, frowning. "What tie?"

Kareem sighed like I was the biggest headache of his day and grabbed my wrist, pulling me back toward my room. His grip was firm, his warmth seeping into my skin as he led me inside.
He scanned my desk before picking up the offending piece of fabric. "This," he said, holding it up between two fingers.

I blinked at him. "That's a tie?!" My shock was genuine. In my defense, I had never seen a tie in its untied form.

Kareem arched a brow, clearly unimpressed. "What did you think it was?"

I should have kept my mouth shut. I really should have.

"A thong," I blurted out.

Fuck.

He leaned down, his lips brushing the shell of my ear.

"If you thought this tie was a thong..." His voice was a whisper, dark and teasing. "Are you wearing one right now, Mau?"
