At age eighteen, everyone gets their locket. A black heart around their neck. When they find their lover, it turns red. Each person must trust the locket and never take it off until they find their soulmate. Love is the light that changes the person's world from black to color in this universe. Dan has turned eighteen, and regards his Locket Ceremony as a death sentence. Why does the locket have to make his decisions? He wants to find love on his own, but you can't defy the locket. Unless you try, which could end horribly. What will he do? Stay loyal to the system he hates or attempt (and possibly fail) at rebelling? Phil, an artist with a perfect yet awful past, hates the locket. Why does he have to wear a heart around his neck that defines his fate? He wants to choose who he is and who he loves. Why can't he find his locket lover- and why does he have to wear the locket? Who will Dan fall for? After four years of searching, will Phil find his locket lover?
