A lot of people have told me to let go in my life. Once I was really mad at Avery and had decided that I was ‘done’ with her, and my mom sat a furious eleven year old Autumn down and said, “ Autumn, it’s alright, everyone makes mistakes. Just let go.” And then when I’d had my first ever break up, “Darling, everyone isn’t going to stay in your life forever. The sadness will ebb away once you learn to let go.” Or when Leni had turned five and had decided that she was a ‘big girl’ then. I’d held her hand when we were crossing the street and she’d tugged away angrily, “Autumn, I’m a big girl now! Let go!”

So I did exactly that. I let go.
