Lenora Schmidt, is a hardened girl after one year of pure torture. Once lively and outgoing- trusting even, now cold and always watching. Lenora now attends therapy, trying to sort through all of what happened in one year.

She goes back to the start the summer of her sophomore year in high school. It was a normal summer break before her junior year, when everything fell apart and she ran away to her Boyfriends house. Eventually leading her down a path she can't escape.

It started with Max Myers- a boy who was supposed to stay in the past, a boy she didn't want to welcome back into her life. But Lenora is a kind girl- and that can be her undoing. An unexpected encounter in the halls during class sparks a friendship- a friendship that will spiral Lenora's life towards a path she never wanted to take- her mothers footsteps. The moment Max's perfect world shatters, hers does too, setting off a domino effect of heartbreak, betrayal, and choices she can't take back. By the end of sophomore year, Evie has lost everything-her friends, her home, and her sense of self. A fight with her aunt sends her running, landing her in a mental hospital, then exiled to Arizona with a father she barely knows.

Told in therapy sessions, Lenora works with Dr. Elara Holloway, to work through the choices that led her down this path, and what it means to go forward with hardships.
