The past never truly fades. It lingers, like the sting of an old wound, like a shadow stretching across time. Gunny had thought he buried it, thought he had locked away the betrayal, the fury, the ache that came with her name. But when she walked through the gates of KMA again, years after shattering his world, he knew the past had only been waiting.

Vidya.

She stood in crisp military uniform, her shoulders squared, her chin lifted with quiet defiance. She looked unchanged, yet different. Hardened. The same eyes that once held warmth for him now held something else-something unreadable. He had spent years imagining this moment, envisioning the ways he would make her suffer as he had. But nothing could have prepared him for the storm that raged inside him the second he saw her.

She wasn't supposed to be here.

She wasn't supposed to return.

Gunny clenched his fists, his jaw tightening as he took a step forward. Vidya met his gaze, unflinching, her expression calm. But he knew better. He had once known every emotion flickering beneath that composed exterior.

For years, he had lived with only one truth-she had betrayed him. She had taken everything from him with her silence, her lies. And now, fate had placed her back in his hands.

This time, she wouldn't leave unscathed.

This time, she would pay.
