Remembering a Friend

Set in the world of Percy Jackson, the monsters and gods of Greek mythology are present in the modern world.

It's been sixteen years since Kai Erieanne Augustine was fighting side by side with her closest friend Asuryu, and it's been sixteen years since her dear friend's death.

Kai has since moved to an apartment in New York City where she pursues a career in acting (though she remains a member of the monster fighting guild Aspis). She has also adopted two teenage boys, Carter (12) and Christian (14). Like her, have demon blood in their veins and are well aware of the mythology that surrounds their lives.

The two come home from school one December evening to find Kai acting...odd to say the least. Christian discovers that today would have been Asuryu's birthday and that Kai is doing what she can to remember and honor her fallen friend.

(Note: Asuryu was a total carnivore who would eat nothing but meat if he was left to himself. This seems random but it's important I promise)
