Earth was once shared by Gods and Mortals. Now, they inhabit the planet seperately, with Humans ruling the industrial lands and physical realm while the Gods reside in the wilds and divine realm. Brigitte spent 18 years believing she was human. That is, until she met Mira, a demigoddess of the moon and sea, who tells her that her destiny must be otherwise. When a terrifying creature from the depths attacks, she awakens a power she never knew she had: the ability to harness fire. But unlike all demigods and demigoddesses, Brigitte has no connection to her divine heritage, and sets out on a conquest to discover where she came from, and who she really is.

Mirai comes from a long line of witches who have been particularly gifted in using their inner sight. As such, she's trained her sight from a young age. She's always been a disappointment, however, as the only thing she's ever been able to see is the vague image of a girl. On her 18th birthday, Mirai discovers a mark on the back of her neck displaying the number thirty. From her first proper vision, she deduces that unless she finds the girl before the number reaches zero, both of them will die. Queen of Chaos and The Forgotten Witch
A warrior's place is not in hiding yet that is exactly where Mira finds herself; hoping that the creatures had forgotten her name, forgotten what she had done. Until her previous Commander appears, bringing the very news she never thought she would hear- that the only creature with the knowledge to break the curse is finally in their possession and willing to work with her. For years, this curse has prevented all of the creatures from accessing their powers. Without their power, they stand no chance of surviving against their greatest enemy, the fae, whose attacks seem to be growing more frequent and devastating. With Deimos, the only creature unaffected by the curse, in her possession, Mira finds herself negotiating the terms of a deal that are not nearly as harsh as they should be and spending her every waking moment catering to the most feared monster.
