"You are inviting me to your home?" I recoiled in surprise, sniffing as my tears dried.
He cleared his throat awkwardly, looking away. "Ah, is that perhaps a bit too forward?"
I shook my head, holding up my hands. "It is just that you do not know me very well."

Four years after the events that led to the death of the elder brain- and the destruction of the Crown of Karsus- Gale accepted the offer to be a tenured professor at Blackstaff Academy. Both his former explosivity and his reputation as a hero of the Gate kept his students under control and the staff certain of his credibility. But when the new herbalist supplying the Academy finds him less than savory upon introduction, Gale attempts to fix his impression with varying degrees of success.
