The F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine, multirole fighter aircraft designed for both air-to-air and air-to-ground combat. Developed by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing), it is used primarily by the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and allied forces worldwide. The aircraft is carrier-capable, meaning it can take off and land on aircraft carriers, making it a key component of naval aviation.
