In the dull City of Hawkins, Indiana, reputation is what will follw you everywhere, from the moment you'e born to the moment you leave the City. On the one hand, Lonan Harrington is what you could consider lucky: rich parents, a big house, good grades, popular, and an equally popular twin brother. But in reality, Lonan is sick of the mask people expect her to put on. On the other hand, Eddie Munson has not won the big lottery of life: he's a misfit, a so-called satanic Freak, a nerd, a dangerous metalhead. Not many people have ever tried to actually know him, so he is surprised when THE Lonan Harrington comes to him innocently at a party. Their story is doomed from the beginning; it isn't even supposed to exist in the first place, and yet it does.

Starting over at twenty is hard enough. Starting over with a toddler and a secret? Nearly impossible. After leaving Chicago behind, she thought Hawkins High would just be a pit stop - a place to quietly finish her diploma, keep her head down, and carve out a better future for her son. No one knows she's a mom... And she intends to keep it that way. Until Eddie Munson happened. Loud, stubborn, and impossible to ignore, Eddie is also repeating his senior year - and suddenly very interested in the new girl who quotes campaign rulebooks and wears metal band tees. But with bottle feeds, day-care drop-offs, and a life she's not ready to share, she can't afford distractions. Especially not the kind with wild hair, soft eyes, and a tendency to break past every wall she puts up. Between calculus exams, car-seat tantrums, and critical hits of the heart, she'll have to decide if it's worth the risk to let someone in - or if this is one campaign she'll have to run solo. - TW - Smut, smoking, drinking, swearing, weed, violence.
