The air between them was heavy, charged. 000 tensed as 001 reached for her, his fingers ghosting over her cheek before settling on her jaw, firm and certain.

"You keep running from this," he murmured.

"I don't know what 'this' is." Her voice was steady, but inside, everything twisted. Nothing was as it should be. Especially as short flashes of his intense gaze flooded her mind, behind her unseeing eyes.

His grip tightened just slightly. "Then let me show you."

She should have pulled away. She knew that. And yet, she let him hold onto her, an electric feeling growing throughout her body and exciting her every nerve.

000 shook. "We're not supposed to - "

He inched closer, his breath warm against her cheek. "I don't care."

000 swallowed hard. "I do."

001 brushed his thumb over her bottom lip, slow and deliberate, a smirk on his face that 000 could hear in his voice. "Liar."
