I can feel the blood drip, drip dripping down on the tiles. It only makes the climbing that bit more difficult but there way in ever loving God I'll stop now. If he were to even see me up here I'm done for. The wind fluffs my hair lightly around, but bitter cold cuts deep into my jacket. Freezing the fake smelling leather to already adrenaline shaking limbs. Dried saliva cracks skin around my neck and wrists. All but a necessary precaution for this whole mess I've somehow ended up in. A stupid fucking soap opera is what my life have become since that alpha saw me.

I grabbed my wolfsbane kit from one of my shelves and got to work cleaning the wound. The sparks that flew up my hands as I tried to flush the wound made concentrating difficult. This seemed to amuse Kai, who took the opportunity to shove his nose into the crook of my neck, breathing in deeply. He remained there as I tried desperately to continue my job without my wolf and the mate-bond pushing me to jump on him. The sexual tension circling in the air between us was undeniable. He must have felt it bad too, because he started laying open-mouthed kisses over my collarbone. I jumped back in shock, feeling flustered by the contact. "So... you are a gamma?" I said, trying to control myself, looking back down at my list. "Your title isn't on my patient list. Johnathon is normally very through with paying patients their due respect." His lips curl into a half-smirk "I don't like to boast, Dr James." I return his look with a half-smirk myself, deciding to play his coy game back. "For someone so humble, we've spent an awful amount of time focusing on you." "Well then, I have a question for you..." His demeanor suddenly changed, his smirk dropping into a slight snarl. "Why can I smell another male on you?"
