Cersei Lannister had long believed that she was done bearing Robert's children. After the loss of their first she decided no more, she would lay with Jamie's wait for his seed to take then fulfill her deities as a loving Queen to her King. So when the maesters guided the golden-haired boy from her womb, she thought the gods had truly blessed her. But then, another sharp pain gripped her, one that sent fear deep into her bones.
As the maesters frantically set her golden-haired prince aside, her body betrayed her, continuing its labor against her will. After four agonizing, blood-soaked hours, a second babe-this one with black hair and striking blue-green eyes-was brought into the world.
For a brief moment, Cersei was captivated by the child, his gaze intense and unsettling, before the cold grip of panic set in. This was no ordinary child. Not only had she birthed Jaime's bastard, but also The Fury's trueborn.
