Panicked, Sirius arranges a marriage between his brother and his friend James Potter, knowing that Regulus can be the man he is in the English countryside in James' estate, which is a sort of safe haven for homosexual servants who are running from the law or are already convicted. James wants to ensure Regulus' happiness, even at the expense of putting his life on hold for a while. Regulus wants to ensure James doesn't fall into societal ruin because of him. Ever since Sirius's escaped from his family, James cannot stop wondering if Regulus is alright now that he is alone. James tries to talk to Regulus when they return to Hogwarts, hoping to become closer to him. He knows he should not approach Regulus. He knows Regulus is his best friend's younger brother. He knows Sirius would be furious. But he also knows that the curiosity of the forbidden and the allure of secrets make him feel alive. Once actions are taken, they cannot be undone. This idea just popped into my head sorry if it's bad. Regulus saves James. Jegulus. Love between the two and the dramatic parting. It's better than the description I hope.
