Harper Levi has spent years surviving alone, holed up in an abandoned radio tower on the outskirts of Wyoming. She's kept herself hidden, listening in on old frequencies, but she never calls out. Never responds. It's safer that way.

Until her radio picks up a weak radio transmission-just static at first, but then... a voice. Against her better judgment, Harper responds, sparking an unlikely connection, Ellie Williams.

After a too close encounter, Harper decides she can't fend for herself any longer. She makes it her mission to travel to Jackson, with Ellie offering the safety and protection along the way. The journey is treacherous-snowstorms, infected, and groups of desperate survivors who see them as easy prey. Along the way, their connection deepens-not just through whispered conversations by the fire or the way they instinctively watch each other's backs, but in the moments where they're both stripped raw by fear, grief, and the rare, fragile hope that maybe, just maybe, they don't have to be alone anymore.
