Two years prior to her first encounter with Bucky Barnes, Amara Walker had been involved in a fatal car accident resulting in both permanent retrograde amnesia as well as the death of her parents. With neither memory nor an identity to tell her past, the doctors couldn't say no when she was suddenly swept up by the famous billionaire superhero, Tony Stark, who claimed to be her biological father. He had her birth certificate, her social security card, a handful of photos, and a paternity test validating his claim.

For the two years that followed, there were few questions posed in regard to his motives and seemingly instantaneous desire for redemption as a father. That was, until Bucky's journey to psychological recovery landed him on the doorstep of the Avengers' Tower.
