After the battle in Trost, the human race is plunged into mourning. However, no one can understand what Jean Kirschtein is going through, who was doomed to survive it, while his best friend and the person who was decisive in the victorious outcome of the battle died gruesomely and alone. The man tries to return to normal, but with each day he withdraws more and more into himself.
Everything changes the day he meets a strange titan who spares his life. It doesn't help that this titan seems strangely familiar.
