At Hillside Boarding School, Beatrice Banks has always kept her painful past buried deep, finding comfort in the close-knit group of five friends she's known since the beginning of her teenage years. But when Maeve Nichols, a mysterious and alluring new student, arrives, she becomes fixated on Beatrice in a way that feels both dangerous and obsessive. At first, Beatrice is unsettled by Maeve's intense attention, but soon, she begins to feel an inexplicable pull toward her - one that threatens to unravel the fragile peace Beatrice has fought so hard to maintain. As Beatrice grows increasingly entangled in Maeve's world, her traumatic past resurfaces, drawing her into a dark web of secrets and hidden emotions. Torn between the loyalty she feels toward her boyfriend, and the overwhelming attraction she can't seem to resist, Beatrice is left with a conflict of emotions. With Beatrice's past colliding with her present, she must face the truth about her feelings, the dark forces at play, and the dangers of letting someone into her heart when she's already been broken.
