Kaedehara Kazuha was found unconscious at the foot of Mt. Yougou by a group of shrine maidens, his blade shattered in half and blood splattered across his clothing. He was later pronounced deceased by the Tenryou Commission, and his case was investigated by none other than Shikanoin Heizou. Along with Maigo, who went on his own personal investigation.

Most of the evidence behind the slaughter of Kaedehara Kazuha was quickly cleaned up and erased, likely so the true suspect wasn't caught, which caused Maigo and Heizou to team up with what evidence they had and solve this case together.
