I reluctantly turned around, then smiled at his goofy grin. He pulled me in close to him and looked into my eyes. "You can't just run away like that," he said, teasingly. The street lamp directly above us cast a golden glow, making John's eyes shimmer. The moon was barely visible from behind the clouds, and it was just cold enough for puffs of breath to be visible in the nights air. It was perfect. "Laurens, I like you a lot," I murmured as John pulled me in for another kiss. We stood there for a while, kissing till our lips were numb. Then we walked back home, hand in hand. •
