In which,

Genesis Renee Jackson returns home to New York City after spending years away. After graduating at the age of 18, she heads off to college in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Years later, she returns home, now at the age of 24, and unexpectedly runs into her ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend, Denzel Monroe, her first love.

Denzel "Ace" Monroe Jr. An ex-basketball player turned Drug Kingpin, whose dreams were shattered by the death of his father, Denzel Sr. A former police officer, who had been killed on duty at the hands of his fellow officers.
