The throne room was a vast cage of gold and shadows, humming with power. Valoria stood tall despite the weight of her fate. She was a prisoner, but she refused to be broken.
King Magnus lounged on his throne, his dark eyes gleaming with satisfaction. He exhaled slowly-"Tsk, tsk, tsk..."-a sound of amusement, of inevitable doom.
"Look at you," he murmured, rising from his throne with unhurried steps. "Still standing. Still fighting. Hmm... but tell me, little dove, does your heart not tremble?"
He reached her, tilting her chin up with a gloved finger. His touch was fire, his presence suffocating.
"You belong to me now. Your kingdom, your crown, your body-mine." His voice dripped with finality.
Valoria met his gaze, her voice steady despite the storm inside her. "You may cage me, steal my world, but you will never own me."
A dark chuckle rumbled from him. "Ah, innocence is a beautiful lie." He leaned closer, his breath teasing her ear. "You think evil never wins? Hmm... foolish little queen. Evil does not win. Evil rules."
She did not waver. "Every story has an ending, Magnus. Darkness always fades in the presence of light."
For a fleeting second, his smirk faltered. Then-hmm-he hummed, amused once more.
"Then let us see, my little queen... which of us is truly the darkness, and which will be consumed by it."
