While she learns to suppress her powers around claimed dragons she struggles to control them fully. After two years of being in the isolated mountain range a strange encounter with a man changes the course of her entire life. Evander is a stubborn and unforgiving man with the drive to correct the wrong doings in her life and control her powers. As winter claims the lands Alexandra faces her biggest challenge yet, a man who refuses to back down until she's saved. Some say winter is the best time to fall in love, that a little heat can melt the coldest of hearts.

When her father brings the family together to talk politics, he brings up a marriage alliance between Nadia and a king from some far off island. She is rocked with disbelief.
