The stories in Greek mythology talked about great heroes, monsters, curses and powerful gods. But compared to hiding from child services and living everyday with a false sense of security in a home full of tragedy and death. Emily Jane is a young girl who has always been gifted with things like music and healing arts and who is half deaf but she finally reaches her breaking point when she is 12 years old and her older brother Grayson gets in trouble with drugs for the 12th time. Unhappy with all that always knowing she was different because she was adopted as a baby. She didn't think much of it until on her birthday her parents didn't come home and her brother became a person she didn't recognize. She had to take care of herself and lie to adults about what was going on home. Plus people she had never seen before kept appearing and she dreads the stories they told about baby snatchers. To get away from it all she often spends her days in the church playing the piano and looking for food or money to help feed herself. That is until one day when a college student named Samuel visiting his family from California comes in and notices her steal his wallet. Instead of looking at her with disdain shows her kindness and becomes her best friend
