"And did you think I didn't see you?
There were flashing lights
At least I had the decency
To keep my nights out of sight
Only rumors 'bout my hips and thighs
And my whispered sighs
Oh, Lord, I think about
Jumping off of very tall somethings
Just to see you come running
And say the one thing I've been wanting, but no"

This is a short story based on Taylor Swift's song-"Is it over now". It shows two different points of view, both the guy's and the girl's.

This is going to be Gracie's year. The year she gets to go on tour with Taylor Swift. The year, she promised, would be different to every other, filled with satin smiles and starry eyes, Secretly, she's digging her nails into her skin, forcing the glitter and sunshine that she projects. The palm of her hands hold sunken crescent patterns from keeping up that act. On the inside, Gracie is a wreck, playing her part in ensuring that no one finds out just how fractured and shattered she is. Behind the hair bows and the effervescent lyrics, is a girl. A girl in her early twenties, a girl trying her best, a girl hoping that the world doesn't wake up one day and hate her. A girl no different from any other - but she wants them to believe she's special- especially when she doesn't believe it. So, no one sees that side of her, not her boyfriend, not her parents, and most definitely not Abby Waisler. Abby is her younger cousin; they're inseparable - the way that sisters are. Abby believes that everything seems to be falling into place for Gracie, but it's just beginning to unravel for her. It wasn't her doing; she had no choice but to watch as family friends and all the kids from highschool deemed her a sinful witch, chased her out of town with pitchforks. So she does what any person would do when their best friend is opening for the Eras tour. She packs her bags and flees the smokey rubble of her old self. She heads out to take pictures and have the most incredible experience of her life, and promises that she'll never let Gracie see how much she's hurting. They're just two girls, trying to keep each other from seeing through the silvery facade. Two girls, keeping secrets and putting up walls, each too afraid to give the other a glance at what's really going on inside of their own mind. Two girls, falling headfirst into adulthood and doing everything they can to catch glimmers of the kids they used to be. Just two girls. Growing up. Learning how difficult that is.
