The game had never been kind to Yeonseo. She had always known it was a game, a twisted simulation with rules she couldn't quite understand, and memories that flickered like faulty light bulbs. But there was one truth she clung to: Jungwon was her ally, her only real connection. Until the game took that away too. Now, the world around her felt wrong. Like a puzzle piece that didn't fit, no matter how hard she tried. Her memories, her bonds, everything felt... distorted. And then there was Kyungjun. He hadn't been her friend, nor had he been an enemy. But his eyes, those sharp, knowing eyes always seemed to linger on her longer than necessary. "Something's different about you," Kyungjun's voice broke through the quiet of the bus, low and measured, as he leaned against the seat, his gaze fixed on her. Yeonseo tensed. She had hoped it wasn't obvious. "What do you mean?" His lips curled into a faint smirk, but there was no warmth in it. "You look like you've seen a ghost." Yeonseo forced a laugh, the sound hollow. "You're not far off." He tilted his head, his expression unreadable, as if piecing together a puzzle he didn't quite have the answer to. "You're not fooling anyone." Her heart hammered. Was he onto her? Or was it just her paranoia speaking? She turned away quickly, looking out the window, trying to silence the rising panic inside her. But Kyungjun's presence behind her felt heavier now, like a shadow she couldn't escape. In the silence that followed, the only sound was the hum of the bus as it carried them deeper into a game that neither of them could escape. #2 IN NHC (ALSO SURPRISINGLY THE FIRST EVER KYUNGJUN X YEONSEO FANFIC TO EVER GRACE THE INTERNET SOMEHOW)

She walked in the university's backyard where she called him to meet her she clutched over the paper bag in her hand tightly. He was already there looking at her with cool gaze. "What happened? Why did you call me here?" he asked, his voice as blunt and cold as ever. She swallowed hard, forcing her feet to move closer as she held the bag out to him with both hands. "H-happy g-graduation... s-sunbae," she stammered, avoiding his gaze. His brows twitched, just slightly, and he reached out to take the bag. Pulling out the contents, he revealed a silver-colored watch-minimalistic yet elegant. It wasn't branded, wasn't flashy, but there was something about it-something simple and thoughtful. He stared at it for a moment longer than she expected. "It's... nice," he said flatly. His voice remained emotionless, but his fingers lingered on the watch as if it surprised him. Her shoulders slumped. She looked down, eyes dimming, convinced he didn't like it. Maybe it was too cheap. Maybe she was stupid to even try. But then, his voice dropped again-deeper this time, almost commanding. "Come here. I'll give you a return gift." Her head snapped up, eyes wide. "W-what?" "Come. Here." His eyes didn't waver, and though his tone was still unreadable, something flickered behind it. With hesitant steps, she moved closer, her heart pounding erratically. Before she could say a word, his arm slipped around her waist in one swift motion, firm and unrelenting. A gasp escaped her lips, but it was silenced just as quickly- He pulled her flush against him, and without warning, his lips crashed down on hers. It wasn't sweet. It wasn't gentle. It was possessive. Intense. Like he had been holding back and finally lost control. And in that fleeting, breath-stealing moment, Hwang Jane had no idea- That this kiss wasn't a thank you. It was the beginning of his obsession. and this was the starting of him being obsessed with a little girl who had a huge crush on him
