Star is a 12 year old girl that lives in Gravity Falls, Oregon. She was taken in by the author of the journals, Stanford. Together, the two wrote the journals and discovered the mysteries in the forest. But she has a deep, deep secret that Bill Cipher, the dream demon, soon shares with the Pines Twins, Dipper and Mabel. One faithful day, Star runs into Dipper deep in the forest. They become friends and Star shows Dipper a hidden bunker that connects to Bill's wheel. Together, Star and Dipper unravel Gravity Falls' biggest secrets.

Cipher is the "God" of the forest around Gravity Falls and it's his job to protect it and it's creatures. He does his job well until two young twins wonder into him home. He watches them at first and lets them live. The boy seems much more interested in all the weird things in the forest than the girl but other than that they looked harmless. Till a few days later Bill finds he's missing his journal, where he logs all his creatures and their actions. Panicked and pissed he reaches his whole forest and the whole town. Making the people fear him and the forest. But he had no luck finding his journal.
