They are all siblings, but Kaleb and Rachel are adopted, Hannah is their adopted parents' daughter, Kaleb and Rachel are not full siblings but their close to it, they were adopted when Kaleb was 4 and Rachel was 10. Rachel was really close with her adopted father, he loved her as daughter, Kaleb was close with but not as close a Rachel.

Their adopted Dad died 2 years before the moved from West Virginia to Indiana, Hawkins, this caused a depression between them, but Kaleb was already f'ed up, so it doesn't make a difference, but Rachel used to be a happy person but sense he died she's been distant, their adoptive mother remarried, Kaleb doesn't talk to him much, Rachel hates him, he was trying to replace their father and she hated it, the hate was the same on equal parts, ever since her mom got married and he moved in she has been a trouble teenager.

Their mom thought it Would be good if they moved to her new husband's old hometown, Hannah, Kaleb, and Rachel didn't like the idea, but they weren't listened too.
