Sora stumbled as his thoughts weighed him down, and his legs gave out under him. He collapsed to the ground, staring up at the night sky. The stars were scattered above him, distant and indifferent to his suffering. He rubbed his eyes, the tears mixing with the dirt on his face. It was at that moment he saw something,
A streak of light. A burning tail of fire. A meteor.
His heart skipped a beat, and he rubbed his eyes again, unsure if he was seeing things. But when he looked up once more, the meteor was still there, cutting through the sky, and falling rapidly toward the Earth. His curiosity piqued, and he pushed himself up from the ground, ignoring the pain shooting through his limbs.
He followed the trail of the meteor, which led him toward an empty lot at the edge of town. As he neared the spot, his heart pounded faster. The air felt thick like something significant was about to happen. The meteor landed just a few feet in front of him, striking the ground with a small but noticeable tremor making him flinch a bit
"What the heck is happening am I dreaming?" Sora asked as he pinched himself but he didn't wake up this was real life
He hesitated, but something deep within urged him to investigate. With a deep breath, Sora approached the smoking crater left by the meteor's impact. The ground was scorched, and a faint, eerie glow emanated from the heart of the crater. He cautiously stepped forward, his senses on high alert, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something extraordinary was about to change in his life.

"Strip. Now!" I aimed my weapon at him with a glare. Upon a passing light, I was granted a clearer view. Intense green eyes were on me, clenched jaw on a keen guard, and a visible scar at the curve of his left cheek. The idle look aired fearless against my warning, forcing my wary to hyperdrive. The sound of rustling ceased my staring. I watched him moving in largo. "Hurry up!" With a lopsided smirk, he started unbuttoning his coat, eyes boring holes on me. "What are you? An android rapist?" He let out with indifferent. "Shut it!" I yelled, trailing my eyes lower. "The pants too." *** Eve had volunteered for an assignment to meet the future. I was falling, falling to my death. The wind, taking my breath as I yelled to my friends for help. "Anha! Risa! H-Help me, please, help me!" They stood looking down on me from the top of the cliff . Their faces changing from normal to bloodied and mangled and back again. They laughed at me. "It should have been you who fell Kyamyi." They said, their faces staying mangled this time. "You did this to us, so now were giving you what you deserve." I squeezed my eyes shut waiting for the inevitable impact with the bottom of the cliff. But what I hit was not the cold stone of the cliff, It was soft, warm dirt. When I opened my eyes I did not see the dark claustrophobic walls of the cliff, but green forest all around. When I lifted my head I could see what looked like a fire in the distance, but I wouldn't find out if it was fire or not, because I woke up. A Mirror Darkly
Cloud struggled to open his eyes. His head was spinning rapidly and his stomach lurched with nausea. In this condition he was assured he would not be getting to his feet anytime soon. He did his best to collect himself without moving too much. His left shoulder pad was digging into his neck but he didn't feel up to shifting just yet. His eyes opened to reveal a landscape of broken concrete that revealed it's rebar skeleton. Dust swirled in small eddies creating a haze in the air. The horizon line was red and Cloud realized he couldn't see a single green thing. Everything looked dead in colors of black, gray, or brown. Cloud managed to push himself up to a kneeling position; his left shoulder protesting the movement with pain. He shifted his weight to his right arm and looked around again. Closer examination showed him that he must be on the remains of a highway. His gaze moved slowly around trying to see someone else but he was the only person here. He wondered how long he had been out. "Tifa?" he said. He waited only a moment for a response. When he didn't get one he pushed himself to his feet. There was a jagged and broken edge of highway in front of him. He stepped forward holding his left arm with his right. "Tifa!?" he called again louder. Below him all he could see was a debris field of broken concrete. Rebar twisted up like metal spikes at the bottom of a pit trap. Cloud gritted his teeth and raised both his arms to cup his mouth. Having survived an overdose of Black Magic, and successfully revived by Drinama, a brain implant slipped to him as a Mickey at a job fair, Xeno earns an entry level position as an agent for secret service organization Intellegella. Garry, his handler, introduces Xeno to the industrial version of the black box, allowing Xeno's pineal gland access to synthetic sensory perception with the turn of a dial, along with the Noumenol patch, a skin absorbed drug that stabilizes his vital signs so that he doesn't suffer a cardiac arrest. Xeno's initial mission is to test the black box on the field, under Garry's watchful eye, and to locate Trianne, an ex co-worker, ex model, ex pole dancer for the Shoki Pao, gone missing and showing signs of spontaneous human combustion, an emerging side effect of Black Magic, and a public safety hazard. Kale had been out taking his dog out for a final bathroom break before heading to bed when he saw it. A ball of light flashed brightly in the sky followed by a crashing sound only seconds later. It hadn't hit too far from his grandmother's house he was looking after for the weeks coming. He had taken the dog back inside and grabbed a hoodie from the coat rack. It wasn't strange for him to take late night walks when he was visiting. He headed toward where he was sure he'd find the meteor thinking it'd make a pretty cool decoration for his coffee table. As he walked toward it he couldn't help but notice how quiet the night had gotten. There wasn't even the usual crickets or frogs chirping. That was when he heard it. A guttural cry of something nearby, he wasn't sure if it was an animal at first but by the end of the sound, he was sure it was a man. He hurried his pace regretting having left his cell phone on the counter by the door. Hoping he wasn't going to find someone seriously injured or even dead. A current original work in progress an adventure inspired by Mass Effect and Star Trek (which will become more evident in later chapters) started out as a Black Panther fan fiction in the early stages but evolved into my own story before I started writing. My lungs and muscles burned. Everything in my body begging me to stop but I had to keep moving. I had to get away. I rather die than go back to that lab but this building was a maze! It's been almost a hundred years since Earth's civilizations fell, leaving only ruins and memories. Long before the collapse, they began taking humans, but now, everyone knows who they are and they fear them. The few who manage to return from their captivity tell stories of how these creatures treat humans like animals or children, tending to them like pets or slaves. Most survivors live in hidden cities, avoiding the ancient ruined cities at all costs. But not Jace and his crew. As a group of Stray Humans, they've made the decaying cities their home, roaming the forgotten streets, never staying in one place for long, and bringing all their skills to the table. They are a family, working together to make sure those things, Aliens, never take another human as long as they are near. When the aliens of A.C.R. (Animal Care and Rescue) find a new group of humans wandering the ruins of a large city, they think it will be an easy capture. But they soon learn that these particular humans have more willpower than most. They dodge every trap, disappear around every bend, and even manage to take some of the already captured humans with them. The aliens pity these "little creatures"-they just don't want to leave their home, but Earth is falling apart at the seams, and they are determined to take the stubborn little humans to the safety of one of the mother planets.
