During a patrol, Russettail watched littermate, Redfeather die in a fight near WindClan territory, by a WindClan warrior named, Jaggedfur who accidentally killed his littermate. Every night, Russettail has a nightmare about his littermate dying in front of him, and he's afraid to even sleep, or go to gatherings, as well to go on dawn patrols, night patrols, and go on hunting patrols, because of his fear of Jaggedfur.
