Mira's world is split in two. Two houses, two sets of rules, two versions of family that don't quite fit together. As she moves between her mother's quiet home filled with old memories and her father's carefully constructed new life, she struggles to find where she truly belongs. Through the innocent yet piercing questions of her younger brother Kabir, Mira is forced to confront emotions she can't always put into words. Why do things have to change? Why can't love be enough to keep people together? Torn between what was and what is, Mira embarks on a journey to redefine home-not as a place, but as the moments and people she carries within her. "2 Houses" is a deeply introspective and emotional story about love, loss, and the quiet resilience of the heart. I chose the names Mira and Kabir because they hold symbolic meaning and evoke emotional depth, which suits the themes of "2 Houses." • Mira: The name is inspired by Meerabai, a historical figure known for her emotional resilience and devotion. Mira's journey in the book is one of inner strength and self-discovery as she navigates the emotional complexities of her parents' separation. Her name reflects her introspective nature and emotional depth. • Kabir: Named after the poet and philosopher Kabir, who was known for his wisdom and simple yet profound questioning of life's truths. Kabir, as Mira's younger brother, represents innocence and curiosity. His childlike questions about family and separation add emotional weight to the story, often revealing truths Mira struggles to face herself. All Rights Reserved
