"Was it fate?" "No. It was luck." {~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~} Charlotte Grace and Zach Lai have known each other for years. Well, kind of. When both were given a pen pal assignment in the fourth grade, they continued to write to the person on the other end, even after the assignment was finished. Only knowing each other by their pen names, their bond grows, turning into a maybe not quite crush. When Charlotte's mystery writer on the other end moves, and a new boy shows up at her school, can she put two and two together?

Megan Stewart hasn't known much happiness. She's only 17, but her life has been hard. However, despite all that she's been through, Megan keeps a smile on her face. Meet Jared Wesly. He's the bad boy of the school. However, he's not so much a bad boy. He's simply misunderstood. Only, he's been through quite a lot, just like Megan. In fact, they have more in common than Megan knows. When Jared and Megan's worlds collide (quite literally), Megan finds herself drawn to the boy that annoys her to no end, teases her, but makes her feel happy and protected, something almost unknown to her. Megan must make a choice in the end: Does she take a chance with the familiar boy, or does he become another "What if?" in her life? NOTE: I first wrote this story when I was around 13-14, so there will be cliches and cringe-worthy writing at moments. *Caution: Some language*
