--- Trapped in a nightmare, Shruti lost all sense of time. Day and night became indistinguishable, swallowed by a darkness that clung to the room like a sickness. There were no windows, no escape. The only light was the flicker of a dying bulb, casting weak, trembling shadows that made everything feel more monstrous. When it stayed on, she almost wished it wouldn't-because then, she saw everything. The peeling, mold-ridden walls. The rusted chains digging into her skin. The dried blood on the cold, cracked floor-hers and those who had been here before her, forgotten. She learned quickly that screaming was futile. The first time, her voice was raw, her throat ached from begging for mercy, for help, for anything. She clawed at the chains, desperate to free herself. Her wrists bled, and her shoulders screamed with every pull. But the only answer was a cruel, mocking laugh, echoing from the shadows. "I like that spirit," the voice had said, low and dangerous. "Let's see how long it lasts." Once, she had been a champion-a girl with a loving brother, a devoted lover, and a world full of promise. Her future had been bright, her life secure. But everything came crashing down the day she was taken. Years passed-lost, erased, forgotten. Or so she thought. Was she really forgotten? Was there any chance of escape, or was this her fate, to die here, buried in darkness? But what if death isn't the end? What if it's only the beginning? Join the journey... πŸŒͺ️Lost in the flames. "Siddharth..." He didn't say anything. Just walked towards me. His eyes were darker than night-intense, unreadable. Hungry. "I shouldn't have come," I whispered, my voice shaky. "This is not-" His hands circle my wrist pulling me behind the water tank, where the fading light wouldn't betray us. "You like the way they look at you, don't you?" Before I could answer, he shoved me against the wall, his body pinning mine. The rough concrete scraped my back, but the sting was nothing compared to the fire in his eyes. His eyes looked dark and dangerous. His mouth crashed into mine, claiming, punishing. I gasped, and he took it as invitation, his tongue sliding against mine with a possessiveness that left me dizzy. His hands were everywhere-tugging at my clothes, gripping my waist hard enough to bruise. I whimpered as his fingers slipped under my skirt, rough and impatient. .......... Pranati had always admired Shravan, her carefree cousin since she was in 7th grade. But everything changed the day Siddharth, his older brother, stepped into her life. During the Bathukamma festival, a stolen glance and an unexpected kiss from him shattered her innocent love on Shravan. Her heart now ached for the man who had awakened something deeper within her. But just as she began to navigate these new feelings, a dark presence emerged. A stalker, sending her unsettling notes, watching her from the shadows. Torn between her past with Shravan and her growing connection with Siddharth, Pranati found herself trapped. Who would claim her heart? And who was the one lurking, waiting to disrupt everything she thought she knew? -- Removing this book on 1st March so do ready it asap.
