A reimagining of The Goose Girl Winnie was never meant to be more than a shadow. Raised as the lady-in-waiting to Princess Fiona-the crowned heir of the spirit-bound queendom of Gansenmag-Winnie's life has always been one of quiet service. But beneath the robes and rituals lies a secret: the power that grants the royal line its divine right to rule does not flow through Fiona. It flows through Winnie. As a child, Winnie was given a taste of the sacred elixir meant only for the heir. Since then, the spirits have whispered in dreams, in visions, in flickers of forgotten lives. When Fiona's connection to the spirits fails to awaken, the court grows restless. To prevent political collapse, Fiona is sent abroad under the guise of a diplomatic journey-one that could end in a marriage alliance. Winnie is sent with her. And when the time comes, Winnie is told to take her place. What begins as a silent betrayal becomes something far stranger. The more Winnie lives under another's name, the more the world begins to shift-timelines fracture, realities bleed together, and a man she's never met claims he's been searching for her across lifetimes. The spirits are watching. The veil is thinning. And in every dream, every flicker of memory, one truth remains: Her name was not mine. What if every story you've heard about a princess... all happened to the same one? PART ONE: THE FROG IN THE POND Amelia is the heir to the throne; still a child and balancing a thin line between a doting father and a cruel mother. Her world view widens when she meets a cursed frog that asks her to break its spell. In exchange for something precious, Amelia has to give something she's not willing to. PART TWO: THE PEA IN THE MATTRESS Whisked away to another country on a diplomatic mission, Princess Amelia finds herself facing Theo again. When a hidden plan comes to fruition, Amelia becomes a part of a long held tradition to marry the Crown Prince, Castiel, who seems mature and worldly but is full of mysteries. Balancing the boredom of a caged life, annoyance at two royal brothers, and the fear of continued nightmares won't be easy, and that's not even counting the plot against her to make sure she not only fails the test to be queen, but fails at ever returning home as well.
