Description:
Liana Reyes has spent her entire life chasing perfection. As the top student at Crestwood Academy, she is known for her flawless grades, rigorous schedule, and an unshakable dedication to success. But behind her straight A's and polished exterior lies a girl drowning in expectations-both from herself and those around her.

Her parents dream of her Ivy League future. Her teachers expect nothing less than brilliance. Her classmates admire her, envy her, and sometimes, secretly wish for her downfall. But as deadlines tighten, exams loom, and her once-steady hands begin to tremble under the weight of sleepless nights, Liana starts to question if perfection is worth the price of her sanity.

When she meets Ezra Carter, a boy who has learned to live outside the academic rat race, she's introduced to a world where success isn't measured in numbers but in happiness. Yet, breaking free from the life she's always known isn't as simple as failing a test or skipping an assignment. As Liana battles panic attacks, imposter syndrome, and the fear of disappointing those who believe in her, she must decide: will she continue on the path of perfection, or will she rewrite her own story?

This is a tale of pressure, sacrifice, and the courage it takes to break free.

Growing up in a toxic environment, sixteen-year-old Jay Foster has always had psychological problems, coupled with a quick temper. But one night something happens which finally pushes him over the edge, and as a result, he leaves his house the next morning with two things: his mother's gun and a plan. Living with a neglectful and drug addicted mother wasn't easy for Jay, and it definitely didn't help that his father abandoned the family while he was still a child. He harbored a hatred toward his parents, and that hatred extended to almost everyone and everything around him, producing a very troubled and damaged young kid. As Jay enters high school, he becomes very intrigued with one of his classmates. Kind of obsessed, actually. Her name: Mikayla Keeler. Mikayla is very unique, and like Jay, she doesn't seem to fit in with her contemporaries. Instead, the two of them keep each other company, and their friendship very quickly escalates into a romantic and intimate relationship. Despite having Mikayla, Jay's troubles continue to burden him. He and Mikayla are fighting habitually, his home life is still unbearable, and his time at school is hardly any better, made worse by a bully named Calvin. Their mutual dislike of one another leads to a lot of hostility, routinely leading to Jay being sent to his school's principal. One confrontation in particular goes much too far, resulting in Jay's expulsion from school. With everything seemingly piling up, Jay is very close to his breaking point, and late one night he is blindsided by the unthinkable, pushing him much too far and effectively planting in his mind a cruel and horrific plan for revenge.

Ava Carter has spent her entire high school career proving she's the best-top grades, student council, and a future at her dream college. The only thing standing in her way? Jace Montgomery. Jace is the school's golden boy-star soccer player, effortlessly charming, and Ava's biggest rival. For years, they've been at war, battling over test scores, class rankings, and who can get under the other's skin first. But when they're forced to work together on a senior-year project that could make or break their futures, everything starts to change. As the late-night study sessions and reluctant conversations pile up, Ava begins to see Jace in a way she never expected. And Jace? He's realizing there's a fine line between rivalry and something more. Tension turns to sparks, and suddenly, Ava isn't sure if she still hates Jace Montgomery... or if she's been falling for him this entire time. Enemies. Rivals. Maybe something else entirely. Because love and hate? They're not so different after all.
