"I will do everything for you, my love."
I did everything you could have asked. I lived for you, followed you, made you my world.
I became the villain in everyone's eyes, but none of that mattered as long as I had you.
Alaric, my love, my world, my everything.
I gave you everything... so why?
Why are you trying to kill me?
"Wh- what is this, m-my love?"
My vision starts to blur as I held back my tears. A tight sensation fills me, like a rope strangling my throat.
A cold metal pierced through the center of my torso. The pain is immense, yet the ache I felt in my heart was greater- deeper, more agonizing than any wound a sword could carve. The blade tore through my body, but betrayal cut through my soul, a pain no weapon could ever rival.
"Why did you use your sword on me.. your wife?"
"Wife?" His eyes glare at me coldly, mockingly.
"How delusional can you be?" were his words as his grip tightened on the hilt, withdrawing the sword from where it had pierced my body. It soon was followed by his kick, that made me lose my balance.
At that moment, everything went blank. My world vanished.
My world betrayed me.
I was reincarnated with no memory of my death, only the knowledge that I now inhabited a character from my own novel. I didn't know why, but I understood each role-hero or villain. To survive, I learned to love, hoping for a happy ending.
Since childhood, I planned carefully and chose Alaric, the protagonist who taught me love.
In the end, he betrayed me. There had to be a reason... surely, he was forced, right? He loved me, right?
...right?
It must be because I am the author that the god granted my wish. I regained my consciousness in the middle of interrogating someone bound in chains.
"Lo and behold, my love. The villainess wants you dead."
