Shattered, broken, and scarred by a past no one should ever endure, Serenity's life has been defined by trauma since childhood. Raised by a mother who saw her only as a commodity, Serenity was exploited and trafficked, trapped in a dark, silent world of abuse. The only love she knew came from her father-until his sudden death left her utterly alone, forced to survive a nightmare no child should ever face. At 22, Serenity finally finds the courage to flee, escaping to a new city where she builds a life as an assistant to a powerful CEO. Despite her beauty and charm, her smile hides the deep pain she carries, her brown eyes betraying a lifetime of anguish. Her boss, a domineering man with piercing blue eyes and a magnetic presence, becomes captivated by the mystery of the guarded young woman. As his interest grows, he begins to uncover the scars, both physical and emotional, that mark her body and soul. Through tender care and unexpected adventures, he brings Serenity into a world of simple joys-the things she was denied as a child-and begins to chip away at the walls she's built to protect herself. But even as she blossoms under his affection, her past refuses to let go. Nightmares, panic attacks, and a chance encounter with one of her former tormentors trigger a breakdown, and Serenity finally reveals the horrors of her childhood. In his arms, she finds solace, but her journey toward healing is far from over. Beneath the brokenness, a love is born-but is it enough to heal her?
