Kalin Seabrook lived anything but a normal life. He was a witch who, as a child, accidently leveled his entire town. As an adult, he lives in a magically concealed house away from the world.

Until he meets Prince Rotoan of Elentya.

While on his way to Vetona to marry Princess Fleur, Rotoan is attacked by a crazed witch named Celestine. Before going to the kingdom, Rotoan and Kalin visit a temple where they are trapped with two other witches and forced to complete trials to escape.

If they beat the trials, the prize is part of a goddess's soul. If they lose, they will be driven insane and die.
