I needed to write an epilogue for the book "Speak", by Laurie Halse Anderson, for my Literature class. The book is about a girl who was sexually assaulted by a senior at her school at a party in the summer of her eighth grade year. She is transitioning into highschool, and dealing with many struggles of her own. I thought I would post this little epilogue in hopes someone would find it reassuring to read. Hope you enjoy!

(Inspired by my own life story, well not completely) Senior year of high school is already starting off well for Tanner Gray, he's got his whole life planned out, and he can't wait to share it with his best friend and girlfriend. But when the opposite pair start spending time together, Tanner starts to see a whole new side of Autumn, and at the same time, the two grow closer to each other. But being an Aspie is not easy for Autumn, all she wants is to be normal, but she knows she can't. She has to suffer from her disability every day, while at the same time dealing with the people who see her as the odd one out. In the 1930s, in a highschool called Ashford Academy. A journalist by the name Esther Charlene shares her experiences at the school. Esther was an interesting one. She always hated school, until sudden mysterious death's happened in the school. She never made a lot of friends, since she wasn't a fan of the friendship thing. Later on she befriends a girl named Heather Marlene. As Esther's friendship grows, what will it grow to? What is Heather Marlene to Esther? To continue, There was a girl whose nose never stopped bleeding. Rumors always filled the school, like a virus. Nobody knows who the girl really is. Esther calls her ' sakodo' but she was given the name slit-faced girl by the people who saw her. But those people that feared or saw her died the next day. Why do people die the same? How do people die? Most importantly, what killed them? One day the girl suddenly disappears. Nobody knows where. A few days after she disappeared, all that was left of her was forgotten. Nobody knew who she was. All traces of her were gone. What really happened to that girl? What was her name? Where did she disappear to? What was the girl's backstory? As the story unfolds. Melanie Davis is traumatized to put it shortly, her dad died, her moms an alcoholic and she was raped my her trashy boyfriend. She has no one.
