High school was never supposed to be easy, but I never expected to feel so alone-especially not with friends by my side.

Except, were they really my friends? They laughed with me, but never for me. They listened, but never really heard me. And when my best friend left, they didn't step closer-they stepped away.

This is the story of the friends who were never really there, the love I witnessed but never felt, and the slow unraveling of a girl who was always just an afterthought. It's raw, it's real, and maybe, just maybe, it's a story you know too well.

disclaimer - expect it to be cringe it's honestly just a fun lil project i'm updating from time to time, basically nothing in the storyline is planned ahead and i'm just writing whatever comes to mind whenever i remember this book exists.

CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. Without warning, I reached down and gave her ass a hard smack. "That's for spray painting my car," I said. Her breath hitched, and she bit her lip, trying to suppress a smile. "You're such a caveman." "Caveman? How about this?" I said, smacking her ass again, harder this time. She moaned, and I could feel her responding to me, her body betraying her defiance. 𝐄𝐒𝐌𝐄 I was raised to be perfect. The golden girl. The Kensington princess. Sheltered. Untouched. A good girl with a silver spoon and a diamond crown. But then there's 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐛 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧. My stepbrother. My brother's enemy. A man carved from sin, wrapped in arrogance, and dipped in ink. He doesn't ask. He takes. He doesn't chase. He owns. And when he touches me? It's not gentle. It's filthy. It's wrong. I should run. I should hate him. But when he says my name, low and dark, I don't think about stopping. I think about how deep I can fall. Because Caleb isn't just my first sin. He's the one I'll never escape. 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐁 She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. And I was the bastard here to tarnish it. 𝐄𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐚 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧. Mummy's little princess. The golden girl. The one thing in this world I was never supposed to touch. But I don't follow rules. I break them. And Esme? She was made to be ruined. Soft lips. Delicate curves. A body that begs for my hands. She's innocent, but not with me. I'm dragging her into the dark, making her dirty, making her mine. She thinks she can survive me. Thinks she can walk away untouched. But Esmeralda? She belongs to me. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮'𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧'𝙨 𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜. 𝘚𝘰𝘧𝘵 𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. 𝘙𝘢𝘸 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵.

*Insert dramatic music* Two best friends, normal right? Well not in this case. Love, wasn't a thing in neither of their lives. But when each other entered, it...was awkward..? A not so innocent blonde, and a very outgoing, annoying, brunette. Stuck between, just friends, or each other's love interests. What will they do? Will boys get in the way?, or were they always meant for each other... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Avery and I were walking the field, talking to each other, or should I say just her talking and me listening. We walk passed this tree then she stops. "Wait! Can we sit under this tree, it's kinda hot, and also I'm getting lazy." I smile at her. "Of course!" I say going under the tree and sitting down. She walks over as well, I pull my hand out to help her, she takes it and sits next to me. "Wow, such a gentleman" she mocks. I laugh at her joke. I love that she makes me smile.
