I sat there on the floor holding my knees up to my chest letting tears pour down my red stained cheeks. I just wanted to be left alone. I know she wanted to help me but I just couldn't let her in.
"Hails, please just let me in... I'm sorry for yelling at you. I know you've been through a rough patch but you have gotta help me understand. Just let me in, please." Lily said crying.
I pulled down my sleeves so she wouldn't see what I hid and I opened the door. I saw her on her knees and she looked up at me and I fell. She rocked me back and forth in her arms telling me it would be okay.
It was in that moment I knew things could get better.
