This is year 1200 AD. Snow hangs heavy over the Baltic frontier. The German crusaders have come--missionaries, merchants, and knights of the Cross--intent on converting the last forest tribes and seizing their land.

Among them is Erhart von Rosen, a young knight bound by faith and silence. But when an expedition into the untamed north leaves him the sole survivor, he returns changed. Not with glory--but with questions.

He speaks of a beast in the shape of a man. Of a green-eyed figure who spared him. Of an altar made of bone.

In the fortress-city that will become Riga, Erhart's faith begins to fracture. The saints grow silent. His dreams bleed with frost and blood. And the forbidden texts of the old faith, he finds a name: Tarn--a memory made flesh, the last of a people bred to endure the Ice Age, their history buried by conquest and flame.

Before the first drums of the Northern Crusades begin to sound, a new war awakens--one older than kingdoms, carved into the marrow of the earth. The secret Bone Crusade, never recorded in the annals of history.

And as belief collides with memory, two paths entwine:
One shaped by blood.
One reshaped by choice.
