Zion has always been the golden boy. Adopted by a loving interracial lesbian couple in South Burlington, he's the kind of person who makes life look effortless. With his laid-back attitude and natural talent, he's glided through life-except when it comes to skating. It's the one thing that truly pushes him, and yet, no matter how hard he tries, he always seems to come up short compared to Owen.

Owen, on the other hand, has fought for every inch of his perfect life. Raised by a demanding mother, he's worked tirelessly to maintain his flawless grades and perfect image, convinced that everything must be earned. But when he's thrown into a competition with Zion, something about the other boy's effortless ease triggers a jealousy he doesn't know how to handle.

When an unexpected rivalry turns into an awkward truce, the two are forced to spend time together-and what starts as hate slowly shifts into something neither of them expected.
