Neither Harry Potter nor Draco Malfoy were exactly thrilled when they found out they'd be rooming alone together for their last year at Hogwarts. Of course, Headmistress McGonnagal knew exactly what she was doing, because they "had much in common," or whatever she had said. They couldn't sit in the same room together without engaging in snarky banter! What an optimistic path THIS year was going towards.  Neither are particularly looking forward to this year, but it only gets worse when Professor Slughorn announces more devastating news:

It shouldn't be surprising that after all of these years Harry and Draco tend to gravitate towards each other. They've always had an innate understanding of each other, why should that change now? A chance meeting shows Harry that maybe he's not as stuck as he thought he was. Draco teaches him that it's not only physical scars that must be healed, but the mental and emotional scars as well.
