Y/N, an 18-year-old in Chicago, struggles with loneliness and rejection. After his parents' divorce, he lives with his mother, Lucy, but keeps his pain hidden, not wanting to burden her. At school, he excels academically, especially in Geography, but his intelligence only earns him resentment. His so-called friends disregard his interests, and bullying isolates him further.

Outside school, Y/N juggles responsibilities beyond his years. Fluent in Polish, he takes care of his young nephews, missing out on a normal teenage life. Family gatherings leave him feeling like a ghost, unnoticed and unimportant. Watching others find love deepens his heartache, reinforcing his belief that he is undeserving of care.

However, Y/N has a secret-one no one on Earth would believe. A year ago, he accidentally discovered a portal to Hell, leading him to the Hazbin Hotel, where Charlie Morningstar rehabilitates sinners. After striking a deal with the infamous Radio Demon, Alastor, Y/N becomes the hotel's accountant and assistant. As the only human with access to Hell, he balances his exhausting double life: school, work, family duties, and his hidden role at the hotel.

Though surrounded by others in both worlds, Y/N remains unseen, unheard, and unloved. He wonders-does he even have a life at all?
